Our Programs

Foster a love of our unique environment and a desire to dedicate time and effort to conserving our precious natural resources. Acadiana Master Naturalists share the knowledge they’ve gained with their community and work to bring greater awareness and understanding of the abundant natural gifts in Acadiana.

Master Naturalists

learning to serve

The Master Naturalist program trains those interested in giving back to their communities through conservation, service, and education. We work to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers knowledgeable about the ecology of our area and eager to share what they’ve learned. In addition, becoming a Master Naturalist is a great way to take an interest in the environment to the next level, and to connect with others who share a love of the natural world. Applications are accepted October through December for our spring program, which runs January through June.

GROWING A lOVE OF nATURE

The Outdoor Adventure Kids program endeavors to connect families with nature in the Acadiana area. Guided by experts, we explore, learn, camp, and adventure, all while learning about local ecology. We provide an opportunity for families to discover together while fostering a deep love for the environment.
